The State Theater
985 Lincoln Way Auburn, CA 95603 Message: 530-885-0156 more » Opened on December 26, 1930. It was remodeled in 1972: the balcony was removed, the front part of the auditorium was divided into two theaters, and the rear of the auditorium converted to a mall. In the late 1990's, an effort was made to create a Performing Arts Center, and the Auburn Placer Performing Arts Center purchased the building in 2006. A new facade, with a new marquee and tower sign, came in 2008. aka Old State Theater
