Opened in 1925 for vaudeville and stage acts, it was partially destroyed in a fire in 1943. It was redesigned in the Art Moderne style and reopened as a single-screen theater in 1944. It was twinned in the subsequent years, and Classic Cinemas purchased the theater in 1997. Sensible Cinemas operated the theater from 2003-2004, and then 21st Cinemas operated it as a discount theater until it was closed in 2008.
Reopened on August 23, 2013 as a "brew and view" theater, serving beer and wine in addition to non-alcoholic beverages.
