Opened on Dec 23, 1965 as the 1,200 seat, single-screen Tilton Theatre (showing Thunderball). A news article mentions the screen measuring 60' wide by 30' high. Four screens were added in 1988, and three more were added in 1998.

In 2011, it became the Frank Theatres - Tilton 9 Theatre (Frank Theatres). The original twinned auditorium was recombined into an IMAX auditorium in 2013. It closed in September 2018 and reopened in April 2019 as the Tilton Square Theatre (Square Theatres).
