While it's great to have a movie theater in town, this one could be much better run. They hire low cost employees and have no loyalty to long time employees. Management has declined over the last few months. You can tell by the lines, the lack of maintenance in the common areas and the minimal amount of staff on hand during busy times.

They need to clean up their act, invest in the theater and bring back some of the more experienced staff. You get what you pay for. I recommend it hesitantly because if you want the big screen and you live nearby, it's convenient and the technology is good.

The condition of this theater is awful. I remember when this theater opened new. It use to be first class facility.

Restrooms need repair, carpeting needs repair, theater seats need repair, the overall cleanliness is awful. the concession stands are under maned, the ticket booths are under maned.

If there were another theater in the area I would not go to this one. The only thing saving it, is the fact that it is the only game in town.

Needs a lot of work. Ladies' room has broken toilets, lights out, no heat - many employees do multiple tasks, carpeting had folds and ridges and was very dangerous for elderly to walk unassisted, and it seems it would be so easy to come in without paying and go from one movie to the other without paying. I've never tried it, but I always wondered whether the lack of money to take care of the interior was due to this.

I go because it's the only game in town, but I always expect to hear it will be out of business soon. I hope not.

Some general and specific comments:
The Marquee Cinemas in Westbrook provide a tremendous service to the community by making current films available to shoreline residents. Their investment in digital projection equipment amply demonstrates their commitment to quality.

I wish I could say the same for the management of this theater. A recent visit will illustrate the many problems that exist. Monday, Jan. 2 to see Warhorse matinee. Only one ticket booth open and a line that stretched to the parking lot. Only 2 of the 4 stations of the concession stand open, making a wait to be served 15 minutes long. Three people being used to sweep up spilled popcorn in the lobby; 2 actually working, one watching. A major movie release being shown in the theater's smallest auditorium. The floor of the auditorium so filthy that my shoes literally stuck to the floor, pulling my shoes off when I tried to move.

If this were an isolated incident I would be more forgiving, but it is symptomatic of how this theater has been run for many years.

All these problems could be fixed with better management and commitment to the same quality that was made to the technology.

This theater is the greatest thing to happen to this small area of the shoreline. Good job! However, the women's restroom always seems to have "out of order" on at least half of the stalls.Waz up with that?
