This is not a forum for bashing on a theater, but rather a place for your experiences (both good and bad) to be noted for other readers to see. If you had a problem at a theater, we encourage you to contact that theater using the information on their Contact Information page. Mar 26, 2014 (> 1 year ago) - Dougmurp I thought it was an 8 Screen Theatre did you close 2 of the Screens when will you get 3-D in one of the Auditoriums Would you recommend this theater to others? Yes Jan 16, 2013 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader My family and I were sad to see how the theater had deteriorated in the past years, but now that things are slowly improving and being replaced, we attend the Hartford movie theater more regularly. Thank you for the new seats and the improvements in the parking lot. Also, HEAT in the theater. I remember one time a few years ago when I kept my coat, scarf, and gloves on and held tighly to me while attempting to keep my feet off the stone cold floor. Thank you for the comfort we expect while watching a movie. Would you recommend this theater to others? Yes Mar 3, 2012 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader Attended The Vow at Hartford location on March 3, 2012 at 3:10 PM. The theater was uncomfortably cold; we had to wear coat and mittens throughout the movie. I did mention it to the gal at ticket window when we left. May 8, 2011 (> 1 year ago) - Dougmurp When are you gonna have 3-D coming to the theatre Would you recommend this theater to others? Yes May 5, 2011 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader We have owned the Hartford Theatre over a year and we have greatly enjoyed our experience. I wanted to thank everyone for the support you have shown the theatre during this time. Dec 3, 2010 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader After having some rather poor experiences at the Hartford Theater maybe a year ago, we didn't visit the Hartford Theater for a while. Would you recommend this theater to others? Yes Jun 5, 2010 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader It has been sometime since I was last at the theater. My husband and I took our grandchild to see Shrek, The Final Chapter on June 5th 2010. I thought that it was very clean, quiet, and the temperature was just right. Would you recommend this theater to others? Yes May 15, 2010 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader I've lived in Hartford all my life, and I grew up with the theaters. I've been there well over 50 times, and I finally would like to critique it. Would you recommend this theater to others? Yes Apr 9, 2010 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader I have been to this theater many times and have had a great experience with every visit. The staff is very friendly and always greets us with a smile. The management has been working very hard at getting the issues fixed with the theater since taking over. The prices are excellent and the popcorn is the best!!! Keep up the good work and we wish you the best of luck! Would you recommend this theater to others? Yes Mar 1, 2010 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader Dear New Theater owner, Would you recommend this theater to others? Yes Feb 15, 2010 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader I would like to thank everyone who has expressed their concerns regarding the Hartford Theatre. As the new owner of the theatre I wanted you all to understand that we take these issues very seriously. In a little over 3 months since we have operated the theatre we have addressed many of the problems that we inherited and are working hard to provide our customers with the best movie going experience possible. Since reopening the theatre in November we have addressed the following. Feb 13, 2010 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader This theater is an absolute dump, which is a shame because only 10 years ago i considered this one of the better theaters in my area. The faucets in the bathrooms don't work, the seats are old and uncomfortable, it gets quite annoying when you are watching a movie and you are constantly hearing the squeaking of the chairs from people rocking back and forth. Also the management is completely unprofessional when we were leaving the theater the new owner had jammed a broomstick in the exit door so she could go outside and smoke, and 15 minutes prior to the show she was in the audience rudely scolding people for texting on there cell phones, I can understand during the movie but why 15 minutes before it even starts. Jan 22, 2010 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader i went to see Avatar with my boyfriend and his family on 1/22/10 at 7:20pm. Would you recommend this theater to others? No Jan 16, 2010 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader On 12/28/09 visit to see Princess & the Frog the theatre was so cold a blanket was needed. also the concession stand/ticketing is a bad idea. You will have more attendance if you hire some help and turn up the heat. Would you recommend this theater to others? No Jan 10, 2010 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader i went to the movie theatre with my boyfriend on 1/4/10 at 4pm to see Avatar. the movie was great! the service was nice. but we were the almost the only ones there so the line was short. but the seats were very uncomfortable. and my back has been hurting ever since i went there. i don't know when the last time they changed the seats in that theatre. but i think it would be smart for you guys to change them soon. because A LOT of people complain about them. besides the seats everything was very nice=] Jan 2, 2010 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader I know that the theater has recently been sold and you are the new owners and I was wondering if you are going to do any updates? The parking lot is in need of re-doing and the seats are very uncomfortable and I took my granddaughter to see Alvin and it was very hard to see when we walked in at the beginning and she got scared because it was so dark . If you would add some floor lights like the other theaters have it would help. Hope you are successful in your investment. Good Luck. Hartford resident. Dec 28, 2009 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader We attended The Princess and the Frog on 12/28/09. The sound on the movie was terrible, with a warble type of sound. There was also a series of lines on the screen throughout the whole movie. As the movie progressed the theater became colder and colder. We talk the night manager about the sound, and they told a tech person, but he said that there was nothing they could do. We ended up getting new passes for each person attending. But was disappointed in the experience. Would you recommend this theater to others? No Dec 26, 2009 (> 1 year ago) - BigScreen Reader Went to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" 12/26/09 at 12:50pm. Will NEVER go to that theater again. Not only did we have to stand in line for over 10 min. as you have to buy tix from consession & wait as they make more popcorn. The movie had just started when we walked in, it was PITCH BLACK!!! No dim lights to help you find your seat. Then for the first 15mins. the camera wasn't framed properly...the picture was cut in half!! Not only is this theater poorly managed it is a fire/safety hazard as exits are poorly lit & blocked by large trash cans. Don't waste your time & $$$$ Oh and yes, the seats aren't the greatest. Would you recommend this theater to others? No Nov 29, 2009 (> 1 year ago) - Beth I went to see "The Men Who Stare at Goats" on November 21, 2009 at 7:15 p.m. The theatre seats were extremely uncomfortable. We moved to different locations and all the seats were tipped forward enough that we had to put our feet on the seats in front of us so we didn't fall out. The seats were very low to the ground and we all had a back ache when we left. I strongly recommend updating this theatre' s seats. Would you recommend this theater to others?
