My family and I were sad to see how the theater had deteriorated in the past years, but now that things are slowly improving and being replaced, we attend the Hartford movie theater more regularly. Thank you for the new seats and the improvements in the parking lot. Also, HEAT in the theater. I remember one time a few years ago when I kept my coat, scarf, and gloves on and held tighly to me while attempting to keep my feet off the stone cold floor. Thank you for the comfort we expect while watching a movie.

And thank you for the $5 at night Wednesday special - I know it won't last forever, but we appreciate it and are planning on going to the movies again tonight because of it.

Attended The Vow at Hartford location on March 3, 2012 at 3:10 PM. The theater was uncomfortably cold; we had to wear coat and mittens throughout the movie. I did mention it to the gal at ticket window when we left.

We have owned the Hartford Theatre over a year and we have greatly enjoyed our experience. I wanted to thank everyone for the support you have shown the theatre during this time.

With your support we have been able to make several improvements to our facility in an attempt to provide you with a quality movie going experience.

1. We have replaced the seats in 5 of the 8 audtitoriums with brand new seats. We installed larger seats with retractable armrest and improved the room between rows to ensure a more comfortable movie going experience.

2. We have made permanent repairs to the parking lot.

3. We have added service stations to our box office and our concession stand in an effort to improve our ability to serve our customers.

Once again thank you for your past patronage and we hope you will allow us the opportunity to entertain you in the future.

After having some rather poor experiences at the Hartford Theater maybe a year ago, we didn't visit the Hartford Theater for a while.

Recently, we decided to give it another try. We were extremely pleased to find the new owners have greatly improved the cleanliness, temperature and (strangely) odor. Some of the theaters used to have a very bad smell, and we didn't notice that this time. They are also replacing the seating!

The best part is that they use REAL butter on their popcorn. Awesome! I am happy to know that we don't have to travel a half hour to a decent theater anymore, and that the prices here as so much less than Marcus, its an overall great place to see a movie!

It has been sometime since I was last at the theater. My husband and I took our grandchild to see Shrek, The Final Chapter on June 5th 2010. I thought that it was very clean, quiet, and the temperature was just right.

The cost of ticket for the three of us was $11.75, but after adding a small punch and a large buttered popcorn, the total came to $20.00. My husband then ordered 2 more small sodas, and that came to $6.00+.

I enjoyed the movie, the theater was overall like any theater that I have ever been in, but the cost of refreshments is way too much. A small soda at $3.25 is way too much!!! The bucket of popcorn was replaced by the bag (which is smaller than the bucket) and the price went way up. The popcorn was between $4.00-$4.75.

I believe that to be the reason that people don't take their children to the theaters any more. You know that the kids always want refreshments and in this day and age, the cost of those refreshments are out of this world. Otherwise, I will come again and I would recommend this theater to others. Debbie

I've lived in Hartford all my life, and I grew up with the theaters. I've been there well over 50 times, and I finally would like to critique it.

The last two times I was there, there was a man who would come into the theater every 5 minutes to check up on me and my buddy. We assumed he was the manager. I believe he kept creeping on us because we had sodas from home. We were also the only two in the theaters. Lately, it has just been an empty theater with hardly anyone giving a crap who you are or what you're doing. The staff are somewhat friendly, but you can tell they want to go home. The front desk is no longer in service, because they lack the employess/money to do so.

The seats are atrocious. You sit down and ask yourself, is this broken? You change seats. Either all the chairs are broken or they're some half-ass brand just to get buy. The popcorn, made with coconut oil, is extremely delicious. I always look forward to the popcorn.

Another problem is the temperature. It's cold!

The picture and sound is good, unless they don't focus the camera, which they just so happened not to do. The creepy theater man saw the blurry screen, but dislikes me so he doesn't change it.. (I'm going to assume)

There are two stands to buy popcorn from, one is out of date/order. I've never seen them use it. I've heard that the theater is in new control, and i haven't seen any inprovements.
Overall, I never realized how bad this theater was until I went to the Marcus Cinema (Majestic).

The picture is GIANT and BEAUTIFUL, the sound was AMAZING, the seats were decent (too close) but the one thing I like about the Hartford theater more than the Majestic was the following:
Popcorn
Location
Price
Privacy (sometimes)
Deals

I dislike the following about the hartford theater:
Service
Seats
Temperature
Small
Empty

Overall, it's a decent theater, but i'm sure they could pimp it out!

I have been to this theater many times and have had a great experience with every visit. The staff is very friendly and always greets us with a smile. The management has been working very hard at getting the issues fixed with the theater since taking over. The prices are excellent and the popcorn is the best!!! Keep up the good work and we wish you the best of luck!

Dear New Theater owner,

Thank you for buying the Hartford Theater and for working toward making it the jewel it once was.

We plan to come out later today to see "Valentine's Day"

So glad to see you brought back the "bring your own bag" for free popcorn on Mondays. The more specials you run, the more people will attend.

We have continued to patronize your establishment while you are working on correcting things. We like to support area businesses and realize that everything cannot be repaired over night. It is important for local residents to continue to visit the theater so you can generate the income to make the necessary repairs.

I do have to admit we were thrilled to read that the heating system was repaired! And thank you for putting a comment here so we knew ahead of time. Now we know we won't need our long johns this time.

Being a smoker myself, I understand your employees wanting to go outside for a cigarette, but I must agree that it is tacky to hold the door open with a broom stick. It would be nice if you had an attractive & clean patio area out back for your smoking patrons and staff.

We come out an average of twice a month and have always been treated well by the staff. Thank you for that.

We will continue to support you by attending movies at the Hartford Theater as often as possible.

Another suggestion... with more and more digital movies coming out, it would be nice if you had one or two theater sections that have the capability of showing digital movies.

We wish you much success!

Good luck and God Bless.

I would like to thank everyone who has expressed their concerns regarding the Hartford Theatre. As the new owner of the theatre I wanted you all to understand that we take these issues very seriously. In a little over 3 months since we have operated the theatre we have addressed many of the problems that we inherited and are working hard to provide our customers with the best movie going experience possible. Since reopening the theatre in November we have addressed the following.
1. Made a temporary repair to the parking lot until a more permanent repair can be made in spring.
2. Made repairs to the existing seats and are currently considering the different options avaliable to us in regards to the seat situation.
3. Repaired the heat systems.
4. Repaired the digital sound systems.
5. Made repairs to the projection automation systems.
6. There are plans in place to add additional customer service stations at both box office and the concession stand.
I greatly appreciate your past patronage and hope you will allow us the opportunity to entertain you as we make improvements in the future.

This theater is an absolute dump, which is a shame because only 10 years ago i considered this one of the better theaters in my area. The faucets in the bathrooms don't work, the seats are old and uncomfortable, it gets quite annoying when you are watching a movie and you are constantly hearing the squeaking of the chairs from people rocking back and forth. Also the management is completely unprofessional when we were leaving the theater the new owner had jammed a broomstick in the exit door so she could go outside and smoke, and 15 minutes prior to the show she was in the audience rudely scolding people for texting on there cell phones, I can understand during the movie but why 15 minutes before it even starts.

I will not return, in order for a theater to succeed in a small town like this they need to focus on the quality of the product they offer which in this case was quite poor.

From now on i will just drive to west bend to see a movie and tie it together with other shopping or dinner there.

i went to see Avatar with my boyfriend and his family on 1/22/10 at 7:20pm.

it was freezing cold! i was shivering during the movie!

also the seats should really be changed! they are so uncomfortable and most of them are broken.

you really need to invest some money on fixing it up because you will get more business if you have better stuff

On 12/28/09 visit to see Princess & the Frog the theatre was so cold a blanket was needed. also the concession stand/ticketing is a bad idea. You will have more attendance if you hire some help and turn up the heat.

i went to the movie theatre with my boyfriend on 1/4/10 at 4pm to see Avatar. the movie was great! the service was nice. but we were the almost the only ones there so the line was short. but the seats were very uncomfortable. and my back has been hurting ever since i went there. i don't know when the last time they changed the seats in that theatre. but i think it would be smart for you guys to change them soon. because A LOT of people complain about them. besides the seats everything was very nice=]

I know that the theater has recently been sold and you are the new owners and I was wondering if you are going to do any updates? The parking lot is in need of re-doing and the seats are very uncomfortable and I took my granddaughter to see Alvin and it was very hard to see when we walked in at the beginning and she got scared because it was so dark . If you would add some floor lights like the other theaters have it would help. Hope you are successful in your investment. Good Luck. Hartford resident.

We attended The Princess and the Frog on 12/28/09. The sound on the movie was terrible, with a warble type of sound. There was also a series of lines on the screen throughout the whole movie. As the movie progressed the theater became colder and colder. We talk the night manager about the sound, and they told a tech person, but he said that there was nothing they could do. We ended up getting new passes for each person attending. But was disappointed in the experience.

Went to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" 12/26/09 at 12:50pm. Will NEVER go to that theater again. Not only did we have to stand in line for over 10 min. as you have to buy tix from consession & wait as they make more popcorn. The movie had just started when we walked in, it was PITCH BLACK!!! No dim lights to help you find your seat. Then for the first 15mins. the camera wasn't framed properly...the picture was cut in half!! Not only is this theater poorly managed it is a fire/safety hazard as exits are poorly lit & blocked by large trash cans. Don't waste your time & $$$$ Oh and yes, the seats aren't the greatest.

I went to see "The Men Who Stare at Goats" on November 21, 2009 at 7:15 p.m. The theatre seats were extremely uncomfortable. We moved to different locations and all the seats were tipped forward enough that we had to put our feet on the seats in front of us so we didn't fall out. The seats were very low to the ground and we all had a back ache when we left. I strongly recommend updating this theatre' s seats.
