Screening to Celebrate Film’s 40th Anniversary
New York, NY — Crete, one of the sites of this summer's Olympic Games, can be seen through the eyes of Alexis Zorba when the Best Picture nominee "Zorba the Greek" screens on Monday, August 9, at 7:30 p.m. Presented as part of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' monthly screening series "Monday Nights with Oscar®," the 1964 Academy Award®-winning drama will celebrate its 40th anniversary when it's shown at the Academy Theater at Lighthouse International in Manhattan.

The Oscar-winning Cartoon Short Subject of 1964, "The Pink Phink," also will be shown during the program.
The next entry in the "Monday Nights with Oscar" series will be the 1968 Academy Award-winning film "Charly" on September 13.
