GREEN BAY, Wis., Aug 4, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Marcus Theatres(R) Corporation, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE:MCS), today announced plans for a new 14-screen theatre in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The plans were unveiled today by Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt and Bruce J. Olson, president of Marcus Theatres(R). The planned site is on approximately 30 acres in the I-43 Business Center, located at I-43 and Mason Street on the east side of Green Bay.

"We are thrilled that a brand new Marcus Theatre will become part of the I-43 Business Center. We believe this project epitomizes the city's commitment to business and also our commitment to the economic vitality that new and expanding businesses bring to our community. The I-43 Business Center features an Office Village concept that includes a mix of retail, business, restaurants and entertainment. Until now, this concept has been only a proposal in our 20-year plan. I am proud to announce that the concept of an Office Village is here today," Mayor Schmitt said.

"We are very pleased to become a part of the tremendous growth on the east side of Green Bay. The convenient location and combination of business, retail and entertainment in the Office Village will make it a very attractive destination for people from Green Bay and its surrounding communities," said Olson. "We look forward to expanding our presence in the Green Bay community and to serving area moviegoers with an exciting new theatre offering the latest amenities."

Plans for the state-of-the-art 14-screen Green Bay Cinema include stadium seating and digital sound in every auditorium. "An impressive feature of the Marcus Green Bay Cinema is its remarkable new digital sound system. This new system features innovative digital technology and the Academy Award(R) winning ScreenArray(R) cinema system," Olson stated.

"The Green Bay Cinema will also showcase the best amenities available in the industry, including big curved screens, comfortable high back seats in every auditorium, online print-at-home ticketing, lobby entertainment on flat-screen monitors and self-service soft drinks. The elegant and attractive art deco look of the theatre will feature classic finishes such as warm woods, rich stone floors and granite counters - all part of Marcus Theatres' trend-setting '2010' theatre design concept," Olson said.

The addition of the 14 screens at the new Green Bay Cinema will increase the number of Marcus Theatres screens in the Green Bay area to 38. The company also owns and operates the 16-screen Bay Park Cinemas and the 8-screen Marc Cinemas in Green Bay.

Planning for the development and the new Green Bay Cinema will begin immediately, while construction could commence later this year.
