The Marcus Cinema of Saukville will open March 11, 2005, according to an announcement made recently by Marcus Theatres Corp. Located a little more than 20 miles north of downtown Milwaukee, the twelve-screen movie theater is just southwest of the the Highway 33 interchange with I-43.
The new theater should help relieve some of the attendance pressure on the Marcus North Shore Cinemas in Mequon, which is about ten miles south of the new theater, and often quite busy. As the far north suburbs of Milwaukee continue to populate, this should result in a successful location for the theater chain, which is a dominant player in Wisconsin. The Village of Saukville certainly seems happy, based on the following quote included in the press release (which can be found below):
"Village of Saukville officials and management staff are thrilled that the Marcus Cinema of Saukville will be opening on March 11," said Barb Dickmann, president of the Village of Saukville. "Marcus Theatres has been great to work with in providing the people of our area with a beautiful new theatre that will become a hub of entertainment and community."
