Marcus Theatre Corp. has received conditional approval for their planned 17-screen location in the Town of Brookfield, which is intended to replace both Westown Cinema and West Point Cinema nearby.
The new theater has been named the "Majestic" and will be located at 770 N. Springdale Road, just north of the Sam's Club. Marcus will need to meet four conditions set by the Town Board involving traffic, parking, signage, and storm water issues.
If the demolition of the former Schreiber Foods building and other work can begin in May, the theater is planned to to open in about a year.
