The epic action-adventure is directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men, The Usual Suspects) and marks a soaring new chapter in the saga of one of the world's most beloved superheroes. The 35mm version of Superman Returns will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience(R) and Warner Bros. Pictures will be the exclusive distributor of the film to the growing worldwide IMAX theatre network.

"Superman Returns is going to be an epic adventure, and by also offering the film in IMAX's format, we're giving audiences a unique way to experience the return of the Man of Steel," said Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures. "The IMAX theatre network is generating impressive box office returns for Warner Bros. Pictures, and we're excited to continue releasing more of our biggest films in IMAX's format."

"We specifically developed the IMAX DMR(R) conversion process so we'd be able to showcase tentpole pictures like Superman Returns on the IMAX canvas, and we're delighted to be working with our great partners Warner Bros. Pictures to bring this huge event film to IMAX theatres," said IMAX Co-Chairmen and Co-CEOs Richard L. Gelfond and Bradley J. Wechsler. "Warner Bros. Pictures has a special expertise in developing groundbreaking tentpole films, and we're thrilled to partner with the studio again on a picture expected to be one of the biggest of 2006," said Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. "Bryan Singer is a cutting edge filmmaker, and when moviegoers experience his unique vision of Superman in IMAX theatres, they're going to feel like they are flying right alongside the Man of Steel - an event not to be missed next summer."

Following a mysterious absence of several years, the Man of Steel comes back to Earth in the epic action-adventure Superman Returns, a soaring new chapter in the saga of one of the world's most beloved superheroes.
