The Academy Awards® for outstanding film achievements of 2005 were presented on Sunday, March 5, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland® and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. PST / 8 p.m. EST.
The telecast was hosted this year by comedian Jon Stewart, the host of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" with an introduction featuring past hosts Billy Crystal, Steve Martin, David Letterman, and Whoopi Golderg.
Presenters included Jack Nicholson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Eric Bana, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Stiller, John Travolta, Ziyi Zhang, Hilary Swank, Jamie Foxx, Morgan Freeman, Jessica Alba, Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, Keanu Reeves, Will Ferrell, Queen Latifah, Terrence Howard, Meryl Streep, Will Smith, Steve Carell, Nicole Kidman, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Uma Thurman, Charlize Theron, Naomi Watts, Lily Tomlin, Reese Witherspoon, George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez and Salma Hayek.
