Marcus to Buy Fox Theater in Elgin, Illinois

Marcus Corp. has announced that they will purchase the Elgin Fox 14, located in Elgin, Illinois, from its current owner, Mainstreet Theatres Inc. Acquisition is to be completed on Thursday, March 25th, 1999.

Plan for the theater include conversion to stadium seating and digital sound systems in all 14 auditoriums, as well as the addition of four new screens.

According to the THX web site (http://www.thx.com), the Elgin Fox has four THX-certified auditoriums, all capable of 70mm presentation and two digital sound formats:
