Star Cinema Johnson Creek Expands [4/19/99]

To meet the growing demands of its customers in Johnson Creek and the surrounding area, AGT Enterprises, Inc., officially opened an additional four-screens at Star Cinema - Johnson Creek on Friday, April 16th. Star Cinema - Johnson Creek is located just south of the intersection of Interstate 94 and Highway 26 and is about 40 miles west of Milwaukee and about 30 miles east of Madison.

The newly completed addition will increase the current eight-screen cinema to 12 screens and will increase seating availability dramatically for customers. All four of the new theaters feature stadium-style seating. The new theaters also offer comfortable high-back rocking chairs, digital sound and wall-to-wall curved screens. The largest screen, which is planned for THX Certification, is an awesome 53 feet wide by 26 feet high!

For a theater to obtain THX Certification, it must adhere to strict guidelines regarding theater design, sound and picture quality, and noise levels within the auditorium. The benefits to the customer include: dialogue that can be heard clearly; sound reproduction that is crisp and clear; no outside noises to distract you from the film (i.e. the movie playing next door, the air conditioning, etc.); and naturally balanced sound that uniformly reaches every seat in the auditorium. AGT Enterprises, Inc./Star Cinema - Johnson Creek was the first to bring two THX Certified auditoriums to the State of Wisconsin when the theater opened in 1997 and is pleased to add a third screen with the new addition.

In addition to Star Cinema - Johnson Creek, theaters owned and operated by AGT Enterprises in Wisconsin include: a six-screen cinema and corporate offices in Prairie du Chien; a six-screen cinema in Sparta; and a six-screen cinema in Reedsburg. Construction is also underway for a 10-screen cinema in the Wisconsin Dells at the intersection of Highway 12 and Interstate 90/94 and a 14-screen cinema at the intersection of Highway PD and Commerce Park Drive in Fitchburg.
