New Phantom Menace Trailer Sure to Tease Audiences

The Official Star Wars web site has announced that a new trailer for Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace will debut on Friday, March 12th. According to the site, "with all new footage the trailer introduces the characters and conflict of Episode I, and features glimpses of some of the fabulous environments in which the action takes place."

The site also states that, contrary to previous reports, the trailer will not be playing before any movie in particular. Earlier reports had the trailer playing exclusively before the movie Wing Commander, which is distributed by 20th Century Fox, the same studio that will release Phantom Menace. Even with those protests considered, the chance of the trailer not appearing before that movie should be slim.

The best way to find out which theaters are playing the trailer, and before which movie, is to contact the theaters directly. For many theaters, those contact numbers can be found in The BigScreen Cinema Guide in their InfoPages. (Some theaters have requested that their voice phone numbers not be made available, so we do not have that information for some theaters.)

So, once again, we may have to suffer through a bad movie just to catch the latest and greatest that is Star Wars, but we'll just have to wait until Friday to find out!
