"The Dark Tower" is a unpleasant movie which the main characters don't have a heart and soul to get into character.Although it has plenty of good ideas, the film went nowhere fast.I find no joy of seeing kids being throw into a chair and have the brains go up into space. The main villain played by Matthew Mcconaughey deserves better than playing a villain who goes around and killing people by waving his had and saying "Don't Breathe!" he makes Darth Vador look like a second- rate villain. Idris Elba plays a gunslinger who must protect a child from being the latest victim of Mcconaughey. I didn't eve like the kid. I have no love for him or any of the characters in this movie. it's lame to the core. Edris keep reciting stuff that Batman wouldn't be caught saying in any dark alley. stuff i shoot from the heart. That and other lines are laughable. Another scene is when Idris is commenting about a Hot Dog. It was a scene in the TBS series "People of Earth" where the alien is wondering about the same thing. "The Dark Tower" is from a series of books from Stephen King and I hope it doesn't lead to a sequel. That sort of thing happened to "Shadowhuters" when it became a successful TV series years later. Probably the same thing will happen to "The Dark Tower." Looking for more opinions?Check out our Featured Movie Reviews for The Dark Tower. |
