One of the worst science fiction movies in years. This is a very bad movie that once again team Will Smith with hius son Jaden and from my point of view, they got social issues. Jaden failed the rangers and Will plays the disaprove dad, didn't approve of hin. They play they're roles a little too hard. The two reminds me of the 1979 movie "The Great Santini," except the chemistry between Robert Duvall and Michgael O'Keefe had better chemistry than between Will and Jaden. Their chemistry is very weak and early bin the movie, I lost all hope with them. Take the scene at the dinner table. The exchange between father, son and Will's wife is wooden at best. That has something to do with his daughter being killed by a creature. She is played by Zoe Kravitz, the only good performance in the movie. When their spacecraft crash on Earth, Will who is ingured sent his son to retreive a beacon to get them off the planet. Jaden spent the movie either dodging creature and brave the cold elements, or he gets into fights with his father who sat on his tush giving Jaden ordesr. There's nothing to like about this movie. This movie had played on Will's ego and that what really turn me off. Instead of "After Earth," there's a much better science fiction movie. You heard of it. It's called, "Star Trek into Darkness." This movie is joyful. That's something "After Earth" doesn't have. Greatest Adventure of the Summer? Give me a break.
