An ugly horrible science fiction comedy which is based on the comic book. "Men in Black" is also based on a comic book too. Can you tell the differnce? I can and the results aren't pretty. Ryan Reynolds is clueless as a former cop who after he died became a cop in the hereafter to go after bad guy and bad guys who look ugly. Jeff Bridges won an Oscar a few years ago. He may be in the movie for finanical reasons. He became his partner. They get sent to earth and they have to get diguises. Breidges became a hot blonde chick and Reynolds a old chinese guy. You go figure. Mary-Louise Parker plays the police chef. I saw her earlier in the day in "Red 2." I love her as a actrress, but two bad movies in a row? Really? I expect better things from the actress. The only standout in the movie is Stephanie Szotak as Reynolds' wife. She is very appealinbg. I hope I can see her in more movies. Aside from that, there's nothing to like. "RIPD" is a Rip off of "Men in Black." Very ugly and without a original idea. They think they have an original idea and all I saw is the same old same old.
