John Sayles is one of my favorite directors. He made very good movioes. One of them which came out in 1988 is "Eight Men Out." I love sports movies. This is not only one of the best sports movie ever, but the best baseball movie ever. the film is about the World Series of 1919, when the Chicago White Sox which was behind the sheme to fix the World Series. Since then, they were know as the Black Sox. The cast is impressive. D. B. Sweeney, Charlie Sheen, (in a better baseball movie than "Major League" a year later) John Crusak, among others. The music score by Mason Daring which capture the mood of the yeat 1919. The film is a major history lesson on the scandals of the 20th Century. and the scandal to fix the 1919 World Series is right near the top. "Eight Men Out" is a very good movie. A must see.
