The 1994 version of "Miracle on 34th Street," has a new twist on the old 1947 version, only this time it was directed and written by John Hughes who did "Sixteen Candles" and "The Breakfast Club" in the 1980s'. This time Kris Kringle is played by Richard Attenborough, (who a year earlier is being chased by dinosaurs in "Jurassic Park") Mara Wilson reprised Susan, the girl who doesn't believed in Santa Claus, but put her faith to the test over a new house.
The film has some different betwwen the 1994 version and the 1947 version, but like the 1947 version, Miracle moved me. But at the same time another Santa Claus movie was shown in theatres, Tim Allen's dreadful "The Santa Clause," in which in one scene, Tim interrupt the movie for a commerical for "Denny's."
The Santa Clause" is stupid and just plain dumb. Allen isn't convincingas Santa Claus. But Attenborough's Santa Claus makes me believe along with the 1994 remake.
