Movie is slow going, no major plot or drama, maybe better to stay at home and read up on your Shakespeare. I almost walked out at the 20 minute time and now wish I did. Sorry, but you should really pass on this movie. Yes the actress is a great known, but this movie was not for here. Sometimes other things keep a good actor from doing good.

It's a MUST see in the Theater because the big screen is really a plus. You must first leave your real brain at the door because this just isn't going to happen...BUT if you just like some good sci-fi and you aren't too worried about how real something is...it's a really good fantasy picture. I mean what more do you want for $5. I do wish they would have used the medical instruments on a yearly basis because they would have been just 60ish. You'll understand when you see the movie. Take your honey and find a nice corner to neck a little...SEE IT NOW!

Passengers was a decent drama. I definitely enjoyed the first 2/3 of the movie better than the last third. Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence have great chemistry on screen with each other, due to them both being great, charismatic actors in their own right. The visuals in the film were beautiful, and considering there were only 4 or 5 actors in the movie, it kept your attention pretty well, until the tone of the movie changed. The third act switched from a good character study drama into a poor action movie. The transition felt sudden, and while it still contained the characters that were grown to be cared about, it instead focused on the situation that they were in. On a final positive note, the movie does explore themes of loneliness and the psychological struggle a person may have in an attempt to find company in their times of being alone. The exploration of those themes (the first 2/3 of the movie) were great food for thought.

Best seen on the big screen to get the full effect of the size of the ship.

"Passengers" is one science fiction movie that doesn't take avenge of the range of talent and story line to go with the flow of the movie. I like the space ship it's an awesome ship. Science Fiction film makers will do anything to get one of those stylist ship for their own movie, but it had to be in it;s movie. Of the 5,000 passengers and 358 crew members on that ship, they had to awake two of the most dullest members in the movie. The movie centered on those two passengers, played by Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Platt and they spent most of the movie playing basketball, dancing, eating in the dining hall and having a drink with a robot version of a bartender. Nothing much is going on in the movie until the last reel when the ship was in danger and Lawrence Fishburne shows up. There's very little to like about the movie I like the ship, but with Lawrence and Platt on board, that ship is nothing more than a waste of machinery.

Good entertaining movie. The action, though slow moves along enough to keep your attention. Interesting fantasy!
