I didn't much about the title of the movie, but aside from the title, I happen to like the movie. This movie is about the rise of a young star name Noni, played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw and the conflict she had between her and her mother played by Minnie Driver. Her mother had an influence on Nomi since her childhood when she won second place at a talent contest, but her mother can not accepty second and ordered her to leave her trophy in the parking lot. From then on she became famous and she is kept in the spotlight by the entertainment media. Then one day, she fell for a cop played Nate Parker who was the only person she ever turn to. This moviue plays out like a show business sopa opera, but I expected that since I watch "Nashville" every week. I like the music score including the song "Blackbird" which could be an Oscar contender for best song. I like Gugu's purple hair and her costume she wore in the film. Even Minnie Driver look very beautiful in the movie. This movie cold've bee a bad movie, but the performances by Guga Mbatha-Taw, Minnie Driver and Nate Parker has kept it being anything but bad.

This is a good movie that shows the ups and downs of being a star, particularly when your manager is your mother and she has you do things that you wouldn't otherwise do to enhance your popularity Good music and nice story
