"Nightcrawler" did for video journalism what "Network" did for broadcastr news. Jake Gyllenhaal in a unlikable performance performance, plays a con artist who one day grab a camcorder and a police scanner and went out to shoot car crashes, crime victims and house fires. And sells them to a TV station in LA Channel 6. Channel 6 doesn't really exist, but there is a TV 5 KTLA which I follow on Twitter and like on Facebook. Gullenhaal along with an aid travel though the gritty bstreets of Los Angeles tto shoot lots of ugly stuff for television. That Channel 6 must pride for it motto "It Bleeds, it leads!" A Chicago TV station was pigeonholed with that title years ago. Then one night Gyllenhaal and his aid played by Riz Ahmed, came upon a triple murder at a residence, which became a big news story. It's nice to see Rene Russo back on the big screen again. I miss the actress. It's a nice movie for those who want to get into video journalism. Makes me want to get into it, but I rather video tape celebrities just to play it safe. On the movie, I notice the morning news team of KCBS 2 in Los Angeles. I also follow the station on Twitter and like on Facebook.
