The title "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" is one of those Summer movies that doesn't need to plug a toy, a cereal or fast food. it doesn't have to. It becomes a celebration of the visual and more alien creatures that make the humans feel second rated. The movie open in 2020 when a space station called Alpha keep adding nations to the station and soon aliens join and when it became too big they have to movie making it a city of a thousand planets. I like the way the city is portray and the aliens which occupied the city. Although the movie is 2 hours 17 minutes longer, it probably needed another hour to check out more stuff from the city. the main characters of the movie played by Dave DeHaan and Cara Delevengne are time traveling agents assign to investigate an alien race, Mul people who are seen as a theat to the city, or so we though. The two in the opening scenes of the movie are discussing marriage, but their jobs had to come first. The movie is a celebration of visual effects which over whelm the power of the movie. the creature are not boring they are many aliens that i like. So, many that I'm having a hard time keep track of their comings and goings. If you love science fiction movies, this movie is a total joy to love.

A visual spectacle (see it in 3D if possible), but unfortunately Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets gets tied up in a predictable plot, average dialogue, traditional sci-fi tropes, cheesy one-liners, and mediocre performances.
