"Hedwig and the Angry Inch" is a weird comedy about a transvitie singer named Hedwig whose rock band the angry inch had been playing at all-you-can-eat joint, while her boyfriend Tommy Gnosis, stole all of her material.
This is the better of the three rock movies. The other two were "Rockstar" and "Glitter," both films failed to achieve anything. Hedwig is played by John Cameron Michell, who also wrote and directed the film. It is based on the off-broadway musical.
The film is as funny as Rob Reiner's "This is Spinal Tap." The film follow the journey of the Angry Inch as they made their way across America on their tour. This is a funny and smart movie, with plenty of good songs and I urge you to see it.
I saw the movie in Battle Creek because once again Kalamazoo has no room for independanct films like "Hedwig and the Angry Inch." One more thing, Independant films are movies that are seperated from the rest of Hollywood. They don't need big stars and scripts to be heard and enjoy. Independant movies are smart movies that has something different to say. "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" is one movie which fit that description.
