Aside from the scenes involving hockey game play during The 1980 Olympics, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. With the outcome of the games literally never in doubt, the only drama was in who would get cut from the team - and that wasn't even played up. Still, I enjoyed watching the team come together.
"Miracle" is a true-life story of the late Herb Brooks which is the brains behind the 1980 Olympic Hockey Team. It is a cross between "Hoosiers" and "Seabiscult." with the historicial importances coming from "Seabiscult." The people of 1980 are riding their bet on a long-shot, and that's the 1980 Olympic Hockey team. Kurt Russell did a bang up job of building up a team from stratch to basttle a mighty Russian Team. We know the outcome, but still we on the edge of our seats in learing how the American team under Brooks can stop such a powerhouse in the last 10 minutes of the game.
