[--- See Now! ---]by Eric Manteau May 23, 2001

Reality Shows have become a fixture in our society over the last year. A prize waits for the contestant who has the fortitude to stick it out to the end. "Series 7" takes reality shows to a whole new level.

Contestants are chosen in a lottery system and then people from the show dressed in SWAT gear and ski masks show up at the contestants door and hands them a Glock pistol and the game begins. The object of the game is to be the last of the 6 contestants alive. The movie is put together like a marathon of the Series 7 show and the only thing missing were commercials.

The show was put together extrememly well and had the right feel to it, from the background stories to the transition shots summing up what we've seen and what we might see. It had contestestants who were gung ho into it, and others who were reluctant. There are twists and turns just like other reality shows, and I found myself caught up in it as when I was watching the last season of Survivor. You have your favorites and you root for them and can't wait to see what happens next. This movie had me on the edge of my seat for most of it wondering who would get it next and how, and then the show would have a new twist and I would start to wonder some more.

I give "Series 7" 3 1/2 stars. Some people may not like the violence of it, but if you enjoy satire and reality shows then this should be an entertaining movie for you.
