A powerful documentary on the civil rights movement as seen though the eyes of one person who was in the center of the movement. James Bladwin who was a novelist, essayist and playwright. this movie 'I Am Not Your Negro" is center of the his views and how his views reflects the conflicts of today. He died while working on his latest book some 30 years ago. Baldwin reflects on his years in the civil rights movement and his friendship with Medgar Evans, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. All three men died within the span of six years. This is the best documentary, movie that i have seen in the last 10 years. I probably said that because i live in a town that documentaries are rare. This movie will lift your spirits. I know a lot about American history, so I won't be having trouble understanding the going on in this movie. but for those, esecially young people who is having trouble in history classes. You need to see this movie. It's American History as told by someone who has seen it all. You need to hear James Baldwin out. "I Am Not Your Negro" is a smart movie that speaks it's mind.
