"Throne of Blood," was released in Japan in 1957, but didn't come to the US until 1961. This film which was directed by Akira Kurosawa, and it was the retelling of the William Shakespeare play "MacBeth."
I recalled seeing this film in Shakespeare class, and some of the scenes are haunting. Director Kurosawa really knows his Shakespeare very well. "Throne of Blood" is a must see for people who wanted to see Shakespeare plays from a different perspective.
