A good movie from 1984 about a teenager, played by Ralph Macchio, whose was 21 when cast in the role, go figure. His character befriends a maintenance man, played by Noriyuki "Pat Morita who got himself a Academy Awards best supporting Actor. He plays Mr. Miyagi who uses his kung fu powers to help Macchio battled the bullies at school. Mr. Miyagi uses the wax on wax off plan to get Daniel (Macchio) into shape. The karate tournment scenes are very exciting as Daniel is pitted against the school bullies. I like the movie very much, but not enough to give it a "See Now!" I played it safe and gave it a "good" rating. Seeing the "Karate Kid" years later has me brought back memories of seeing the movie for the first time.
