Are you looking for an educational family experience? The whole family will enjoy Lewis and Clark. This movie encouraged follow up dialogue with the my children (ages 8 and 13). They asked questions that we researched on the internet. We even checked out a book at the library on the topic. Weeks later, while on a family vacation to South Dakota, we compared and contrasted the journey Lewis and Clark took, to our own 2004 trip by car. This was a positive family experience.
We saw this while at the Arch in St. Louis, and it was an excellent tie-in for the rest of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, including the museum that is located there.
As the previous reviewer stated, it's an excellent way to inform children and adults alike about the incredible challenges faced by Lewis & Clark's expedition and the bravery and generosity of the Indians that helped them. It's an opportunity for follow-up learning if you wish, as it provides a good jumping-off point for additional research and learning about the subject.
