Rapper Eminem made his presence known in "8 Mile." For those who aren't familiar with Detroit, 8 Mile is the dividing line between the city of Detroit and the rest of Wayne county, if not Michigan.

Eminem plays a street kid who turns to rap to get away from rotton home life. Kim Basinger is wonderful as his struggling mother. "8 Mile" reminds me of the 1984 film "Purple Rain" which introduces us to an upcoming performer name Prince.

8 Mile is a really good movie...and I was impressed by the first time acting of Eminem. I won't spoil the movie by giving details, but it's definately worth a - movie ticket. The only people who wont like this movie are people who are biased against rap music or rappers. In which case..no one cares what people like that think anyway. GO SEE IT NOW ! =)

Excellent movie. Eminem does a phenomenal job for his first time acting. You can really feel the heart and soul in this movie. It makes you feel like your in there living it, it may be a little profane, but it's all part of the movie.

Wow! I'm not even an Eminem fan, but this movie was great. The acting was VERY good. I was really surprised. The plot moved along nicely and had a touch of comedy, drama, and action.

Don't frown on this movie just because it is about 'Rap'. It isn't a 'Rap' movie. It is a movie with a story to tell. Go see it now!!!
