Comes close to a "see now". Some people may not appreciate the humor, but I sure did.

Rowan Atkinson is a very funny comedian from England. I liked the "Mr. Bean" series on PBS, even though I dislike the movie that came out in 1998. But my personal favorite from Atkinson is "Blackadder," which is very funny. But as "Johnny English," Atkinson can only be funny in a few scenes. Not much to laugh at. English is assinged to stop a mad frenchman from taking over the English throne. He is played by John Malkovich in a crediable role. Pop Star Natalie Imbruglia plays English's love intrest.(She had a top 40 hit in the US a few years ago. I saw the video in VH-1) Might as well stare at Imbruglia to get your money's wroth. "Johnny English" doesn't work as a James Bond spy spoof.

I think the guy sitting in front of me at the theater made me laugh more than the movie (he was busting a gut at the most stupid scenes). I'm a HUGE Black Adder and Bean fan, but sadly this is not Rowan at his best...but it's not his fault. It was a bad script - punchlines are seen a mile away - and poor direction.
