This is one bizarre, twisted film...and it's also very good. The grainy cinematography really adds to the horror the movie creates, and some of the scenes in this movie rank among the most frightening ever put on film. It's an unprofessional movie, yes, but it's more disturbing than "Silence of the Lambs", by far.
