Wrong Turn
After a wrong turn and flattened tires bring a group together in an isolated mountain area, what looked like bad luck was really a trap set by three gruesome mountain men on the hunt.

R
strong violence and gore, some language and drug use

The effects in the movie should be good, as they were done by Academy AwardŽ Winner Stan Winston (Jurassic Park, et al)

A pretty good horror flick, so long as you go in with the right expectations. Be sure to watch the movie trailer in the sidebar, as the TV clips that have been available previously don't prepare you for the film you're about to see.

I gave "Wrong Turn" a good for the simple reason that it will be more enjoyable to see on a big screen, in a large group of people, and with split surrounds to immerse you in the situation these six unlucky 20-somethings have landed. There are some very good jump scenes which caught the entire theater of people off-guard, which should happen in such a film.

Go into this film with the right expectations of what you're going to get, and you won't be disappointed.

Part of me wants to rate this one as a "Stay Away", but I guess the bottom line is that the movie isn't completely awful.

Similar to standard hack and slash flicks like Friday the 13th and Halloween, but with a slant towards Texas Chain Saw Massacre. If this is the type of movie that you like, you'll probably enjoy this film.

Overall it didn't do much for me. Many of the sequences were so blatantly telegraphed that you knew exactly what was about to happen. However, there were a couple of scenes that made you jump in your seat. The movie is pretty gory. I was disappointed with the lack of character development the "bad guys" had.

This movie is AWFUL. No acting, no real plot, no special effects worth mentioning, nothing.

"Wrong Turn" is another ugly horrible film inwhich the kids in the film are hunted down and killed by a bunch of freaks. Eliza Dushku leads a group of kids who are fleeing from the killers. One after another is cut down. They didn't even start to fight back until 20 minutes towards the end of the film. Another attempt to resurrect the slasher thriller by lousy fillmmakers who don't know a thing about horror films. Even Stan Winston presence didn't help much. Dushku and the kids deserved better than this.
