My 12 year old daughter wanted to see this movie. It is a rule in our house that if a movie is rated PG-13 My husband and I must see it first before we allow any child to see it. So on friday night my husband and I went to see the movie without the children...we were really surprised...I thought it would be voilent, vulgar and pointless...Instead it was entertaining. The dialogue was pre-teen to teen appropiate and overall we will allow our children to go and see it...I read a review who said it "was sappy" I say to that critic (who probably has no children) STOP AND THINK... there are millions of families who have children who are at that in between stage...in between too old for cartoons and too young for teen-to-adult movies....this MOVIE WAS A REFRESHING CHANGE...no cursing(except one),no pre-maritail sex, young people obeying their elders....Our HATS ARE OFF TO YOU AND MY HUSBAND AND I APPLAUD YOU FOR MAKING THIS MOVIE.......THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU...
GOING BACK TO SEE THIS AGAIN AND AGAIN

I love hip-hop, but not this movie, which completely uses racial stereotypes to the max, has no plot/acting, and if you want to see real dancing, watch Breakin'. Peace out!
Lots of dancing and a loud soundtrack and the movie doesn't go anywhere. "You Got Served" is a film about a the up and downs of a street crew who battles another street crew to see wh's better. When a gangster theatens them and a drive-by shooting involves one crew member, what do they do? Dance like there's no tommorow.
