From Russia With Love
James Bond is back, looking to get his hands on a Russian decoder machine, and quite possibly the Russian woman offering it to him. Is this mission as simple as it seems, or is SPECTRE setting a trap?

Of the first three James Bond movies, From Russia With Love is the best. The pacing is good, the story interesting, and the characters have depth.

While the refinements of today's moviemaking cause this 1963 movie to look as dated as it is, the performances certainly outpace those delivered in recent Bond movies, especially the painful "Die Another Day." The only recent outing that comes close to this movie is Goldeneye, and perhaps that is because there is a similar theme (a beautiful Russian woman, a friendly foreign agent, and a worthy opponent).

Well worth seeing and therefore, it gets a See Now! rating.
