Awesome!!! HUbby, I and both kids, girl age 14, boy age 12 all thought it was very good. Dad and son said "chick Flick" and gave it a B grade but daughter and I loved it and gave it an A+++++. Could be a tad scary for young ones - she looks pretty scary at first.
I'd love to see it again. Was just the right length of time also, not too long and not too short.
Okay, I'll admit, I had a preconception of what this movie was going to be. I thought it was going to be a rip-off of Mary Poppins. I thought it would be predictable and shallow. Because it was only showing in Green Bay at such an early time, I really thought it was only for kids.
I was wrong. Blissfully wrong.
This movie was suprisingly deep and touched me. The production value was consistently excellent and the story was rich and engaging all the way through for both young and old. This was a far better movie than I expected. I felt I got a deal on the ticket price and am sure you'll agree.
A delightful movie about a nanny with magical powers comne to the aid of a family in crisis. A single father who can't control his kids, enlist the aid of Nanny McPhee. She is played by Emma Thompson in another great performance. Every time one of the kids did something nice, shes loses a part of her uglyness. She's not Mary Poppins, but this nanny can work wonders.
