A good family picture. It's Jumanji meets outer space.

Aside from the specail effects which I like, I disliked the acting in this film. don't get me wrong, I love the specail effects, but the arguing from the kids has got on my nerves. As a result I didn't like "Zathura." A wasted space trip to nowhere.

Zathura had the potential to be a great space-age Jumanji, but unfortunately failed. The two main child actors who played the squabbiling brothers were both miscasted and poor actors. They had little to no family resemblance and their constant arguing was annoying to say the least. If it wasn't for Tim Robbins and the wonderful plot, this movie would have been a total disaster.

A fun, family friendly movie. Puts a new twist on the Jumanji story, setting it in space instead. A very underrated Jon Favreau film.
