"Over the Hedge" is a cute animated comedy that kids will enjoy and parents will not be annoyed by. While not on the level of classics that come before it in this genre (Toy Story, Finding Nemo, or even Shrek), and not as enjoyable as the upcoming "Cars," it is enjoyable to watch a group of woodland creatures in a suburban environment.
With celebrity voices including Bruce Willis, William Shatner, and Steve Carell, there is a lot of fun to be had. However, anyone looking for more than just an enjoyable movie, and one that will leave a more lasting impression, will have to wait for "Cars" to open on June 9th.
Like I said, kids will enjoy the movie. It may not end up on their holiday wish list of movies to own and watch over and over again, but it's a fun diversion nonetheless.
Not very funny. Unlike other Dreamworks movies, there were very few jokes for the grown ups.
There's nothing to see "Over the Hedge." What we got here is a movie that's a one joke movie aboiut a group of animals who invade the surbans to steal food. That's the plot of the movie. The rest of the time they stood around makinbg bad animal jokes. William Shattener turns his character into another minic of the Captain James T. Kirk character in "Star Trek." To sum up, there are too many critters and too little humor.
It's a must see!!!!
Another funny movie for the whole family from the people who brought you Shrek. I took my niece and we both had an excellent time.
