[--- Good ---]by Scott Jentsch VIP MemberDec 10, 2007

If you're into poker, this movie is going to mean a lot more to you than if you aren't. The drama between father and son and the romance between Huck and Billie are secondary to the action at the tables. Many professional poker players have roles in the movie, so followers of the game will enjoy finding their favorite players.

I had a hard time buying into Eric Bana for the first half of the movie, but either I got used to him, or his performance got better. Drew Barrymore can light up a screen, but here, she is more subdued. Robert Duvall is very good as well.

If you enjoy poker, you'll enjoy this movie. If not, you may want to consider your options.

I never watch any of the Poker shows on cable and after watching "Lucky You," I may have to. the game is slow, but intense. watching Eric Bana playing poker is part of the fun of watching this movie. Drew Barrymore plays his love intrest, Robert Duvall plays his father, who's also good at poker. Yes, luck is with this movie. "Lucky You" has struck it rich in script, direction and performances.
