"The Hoax" is a wicked film about a author who wrote a fake biography on Howard Hughes, until he was caugh in that lie. richard Gere gave his best performance in years as the author who though that he could get away with it, until the real truth catches up with him. Alfred Molina is great as his assasstant writer who was also in on the fake bio, until he turn on Gere. Anybody who wants to get into writing non-fiction stuff shoud watch this film first. it's ok to write a biography, as long you don't claim to know the subject matter or making wild claims about the subject matter. I like "The Hoax." the film is both funny and sad. It is also very smart.the film has captured to mood of the early 1970's very well. Just like "Zodiac," a film that I saw a month ago which also captured the events of the 1970's.
