[--- Wait for Rental ---]by Geno Aug 27, 2007

Ironically, some of the best acting came from Alicia Keys, at least her character/acting seemed genuine, as limited as it was.

We expected a lot more from the characters of Laura Linney and Scarlett Johansson, but were very dissapointed. No character depth, and the plot was watered down to a B flick to watch Sunday afternoon, during re-run season.

Save your money, wait for the rental, or better yet, wait for someone else to rent it, watch it at their place, you can talk during the movie, and no one will be angry.

"The Nanny Diaries" is based on the book of the lives of two nannies, but sadly the book to screen is very weak despite a grest perfroamce from Scarlett Johansson. Laura Linney, whom I admired thoughout the years is shockly lame. I wanted satire, but all I got was a boring lesson of being a nanny. One scene which stood out is Johansson firing back at Linney though the nanny cam which is a teddy bear. The rest of the cast is dull, even the kid didn't much.I wanted more from this movie, but all I got was less. My advice is to buy the book and skip the movie.
