One of the rare gems that came out of the summer of 2008 is "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl." this film is geared to girls, but this movie is for everybody. the film is based on the books featuring the heroine Kitt Kittredge. this is one little girl who dreamed big and have real life heroes she placed on the wall. You can it her wall of honor. Her goal is becoming a newsreporter, but the editor told her that she's a girl and she's too young. but that wouldn't stop her. Not in a million years. This film is all sweetness and light. Kitt's time period is the great depression where there are plenty of hobos on the road. Times are tough, but Kitt and her family fight back with everything they got. Even a forclousure on their home. Believe me, this movie doesn't pull any punches when it comes to the film's protrayal of the Great Depression. Abigail Breslin did a great job of playing Kitt Kittredge. Watching her perform is a joy to behold. Becoming happy one minute and becoming sad the next. that is the perfect blessing to the gifted actress. This film tells how Kittredge manage to defend someone who accused of a crima nad in fact save her home and her family. Kittredge is smart and has a big heart. I'm glad that little girls are looking up to her. A lot of people should be looking up to her too. "Kitt Kittredge: An American girl" is a must see for everyone, I love this movie very much. One of the best movies of the year.
