Suffers the sin of being boring. Kind of a lazy script, the actors are competent, but uninteresting and you never feel any real investment in them. And there wasn't a minute gone by that I didn't miss Robert Englund. Jackie Earle Haley is decent, but Robert Englund IS Freddy Krueger, and anyone else playing the role just feels wrong.

If you're a die hard fan of the series, its not a total waste of money, but if not, there are better ways to spend your movie money.

Do we need another "Nightmare on Elm Street?" I saw some of the Elm street movies in the late 1980's and early 90's and I think they're terrible. Only the third movie "Dream Warriors" is the only Elm Street movie that I like. This new Elm Street is more of the same. A group of lkids get chopped by Freddy Krugger when they go to sleep. There's nothing to like about this new Elm Street, and I'm not surprise. Meet the new Nightmare! Same as the old nightmare! We got fooled again!
