Director/Writer Terrance Malick's last movie was thirteen years ago has return with "The Tree of Life" a movie which combines family life with the origin of the Universe. Thoose two elements combine very well indeed. Brad Pitt plays the head of the household who is tough on his kids. I love the way the kids play in the background and into the wood. Sean Penn plays the older child as an adult as he looks back on his childhood. I really like the movie. It sets the tone for the film and it's the right tone indeed. Malick directed the movie as if it were directed by Stanley Kurbrick. Terrance Malick is a different director. He makes movie for the sake of making movies. He doesn't make movies for the sake of being a celebrity. This is one impressive movie. I hope more people will see "The Tree of Life." One of the best movies of 2011.
