[--- See Now! ---]by Rachel Jan 25, 2000

This movie one of spectacular epic proportions. The fact that it is banned from China by the Cinese government makes it an intriguing topic for anyone mature enough to handle the scenes. The acting was superb. It has truly memorable scenes that will be forever burned into my mind. It is stereotypical for someone to put a sticker on the back of their car that says, "Save Tibet." But to know the meaning behind that saying makes the feeling real for me. Unfortunately, it's disappearing quickly out of theaters. So hurry.

Kundun only played for one week in the main-line cinemas in our area. We happened to discover it on the last day of showing, and only managed to make the very last showing. This movie was very well done. Seven years in Tibet falls far short of this movie. Fortunately the budget theaters are showing it now, and I plan on seeing it again. I agree with the previous reviewer (Rachel).

It is interesting to note that the Dalai Lama is making a three day visit to Madison Wisconsin, in May.

The story of the 14th Dalai Lama is chronicled in Martin Scorses moving tale. the screenplay made be slow. The only thing this film's guilty of that it came too soon after the Brad Pitt film "Seven Years in tibet," but it survived on a mild recommendition.
