hi everyone!! this is a sensational movie! Julia Roberts (whom i adore) and Susan Saranden portray great and touching characters. while one is lovable for an instant the other is mean, then it switches. the struggle Isabelle, (Ms. Roberts) has to deal with is trying to make Jackies, (Ms. Saranden) kids like her. this is a very emotional film with lots of laughter and heart warming feeling. it is a GREAT flim that i think everyone w/a heart should see.

I thought this was a nicely done movie. The plot may have been a little bit predictable but the movie was still fun to watch. All the actors and actresses did a good job. The only downfalll to the movie was its plot. If you are looking for a good movie to watch I recommend this one!

This is a very emotional film! I suggest you have plenty of Kleenex when you see this. It is about the competition between a mother and a step-mom, for the love and acceptance of two children who are retaliating with the growing pains in this situation. I consider it a must see!

This film was described to me by a friend as a "Chick-flick"...and I understand what he meant...but I do not agree, either with his characterization nor with the ever-present "Featured" professional reviewer who gave this film just 1 and 1/2 stars and panned it in his review. I found themovie enjoyable...after all, I went for entertainment and I was entertained. The players were all well cast and created believability in their roles. Perhaps the pro reviewer is right in saying that the plot is predictable as it unfolds...but so what? I kind of like being right! And I also appreciatedthe values expressed in the film. Take your wife to see this one...you'll both enjoy the time together...c'mon guys...how many football games has she watched with you?

This is a good movie for those of you who don't mind crying. Julia Roberts did an excellent job portraying the stepmom in this story. It is not an action packed film, but a story of a family struggling to stay together even though there has been a divorce and another woman has entered the picture. This is a feel good movie and i recomend that you go see it immediatly.

First of all...I loved it, but can we say "DEPRESSING!" This is a really great film...it takes a serious, sometimes funny, but definitely depressing look at families that are split by divorce. I think this is the best performance by Julia Roberts since her "Pretty Woman" days and definitely Susan Sarandon's best work ever. If any person deserves to be nominated for an Oscar, Susan better get a nod. Don't let the commercials or title sway you to believing that the film is a feel good or funny movie....while there are some feel good and comical moments, this film is designed to cause the audience member to have feel or become a part of the film and there is a strong liklihood that you will have an emotional response. Bottom line...quite simply, this is one film you should see.

For one who was tired of seeing movies about divorced families where one party is bitter (usually the woman) and the children hate the father and the new wife, I was very surprised. I am a big Suan Sorandon fan and she did great as always. I am not fond of Julia Roberts, but I was extremely surprised and pleased with her performance. Ed Harris also did great. The movie was funny and sad. It wasn't at all what i thought it would be, it was Terriffic. It was a great family movie about getting along and learning to love.

[--- See Now! ---]by Andy Gee Jan 25, 2000

This was a great movie. The representation of some of the inherant problems that exist for children with divorced parents in a new relationship was realistic, as well as the problems between former spouse and new spouse. More families need to realize these problems and work harder to tolerate each other for the benefit of the children.

Big name stars make the best of Hallmark Hall of Fame material, but there are irreparable holes in Stepmom. The last hour needs a major rewrite to eliminate uneven behavior. Characters begin warming up to one another, then take a 180 degree turn. This process continues far too long. Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts are professionals, though, and it’s their movie (Ed Harris is barely an afterthought). The fact that they make it almost worth watching is a credit to their acting skills.

10-point scale rating: 4

I absolutely loved this movie it'll make you laugh and cry and get angry. Especially at the Susan Sarandon character (Jackie). Julia Roberts' character (Isabel) is witty and hip and very likeable. This movie is designed to touch your heart and soul and it does it masterfully.

A little depressing, but still OK. Might be good for date-night.

One of the best movies on family Life. "Stepmon" is a movie about the conflict within a family after the father has taken in a younger woman. "Stepmon" is a huge surprise in acting and emotions. In one dance squence, Susan Sarandon and her two kids danced around the room to a 60's song. the very best moment in the movie. I love this film very much. "Stepmon" has heart.
