This is a thoroughly enjoyable movie, based upon the true story of elderly man who drove his garden tractor from western Iowa to Wisconsin, so that he could visit his critically ill brother. The movie will not confuse or frighten the viewer, nor cause nightmares. The all too common movie profanity, nudity, or sexual activity are totally absent. In addition to the mini-travelog featuring midwest fall scenery, The Straight Story presents the philosophy of life of a down-to-earth senior citizen, and does it in an easy-to-take manner. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel called this a four star movie. I certainly agree.
