The Pavilion Cinema in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, New York will open as a sister location to the Nitehawk Cinema Williamsburg on Metropolitan Avenue, according to a recent article published in the New York Times:
Because of the Nitehawk’s success, [Matthew] Viragh is set to open this second incarnation sometime around February or March of 2018, with its trademark guitar-pick shaped tables, creative programming, gourmet food, cocktails and new, comfortable, bug-free seating. (The old seats were donated and sent to a church in the Dominican Republic after the Pavilion closed last fall.)
Work on the 34,000-square-foot space — three times bigger than the Nitehawk in Williamsburg and the first rehab to be done on-site since the 1990s — is proving to be a huge job for Think! Architecture and Design, which is overseeing the project. While doing demolition these past few months, contractors have been careful to preserve the few architectural details left from the original 1928 Sanders theater: elaborate ceiling panels, intricate molding and marble steps that were covered for decades in cheap carpeting.

Matthew Viragh originally considered purchasing the Pavilion Cinema, but that fell through and opened the Williamsburg location in 2011.
When it opens in February or March of 2018, it will be known as the Nitehawk Cinema Prospect Park.
