The Allwood Cinemas in Clifton, New Jersey is now open, following five days of renovations after it closed on June 9th following the sale by former owner Clearview Cinemas.

The Allwood Cinema 6 closed its doors Sunday to begin renovations under new independent ownership and today, about five days later, the red carpet has once more been rolled out for the grand reopening of the more than 60-year-old theater.

The focus over the five-day hiatus was on cleaning up and repainting and management said theatergoers should notice a big improvement. As renovations continue throughout the summer, Allwood Cinema 6 on Market Street will maintain its classic and vintage look all the while offering modern amenities.

Some of those contemporary services include digital projectors and updated audio, ticket purchasing courtesy of www.movietickets.com and newer food selections including frozen yogurt, hot dogs and possibly White Castle burgers. Patrons can also continue to expect fresh popped popcorn, snacks and beverages.

All those newer services must come at a higher price per viewer, right? Nope – in fact, some options are even less expensive. Tickets for matinee films shown before 4 p.m. are $5 and Tuesday is $5 all day for everyone. Regular tickets continue to be priced at $8.75 for adults and $7.75 for children and seniors.
